Erica Nockalls: Birmingham Conservatoire trained violinist best known for her work with The Wonder Stuff, The Proclaimers and as the front woman of her feisty self-titled art rock band. After the release of her 2013 debut solo record, Imminent Room, Nockalls felt compelled to visualise her album tracks in oils, and has since adorned her stages with her art.
In anticipation of the launch of her second studio album, EN2, Nockalls has prepared a collection of oil paintings directly inspired by her new music for her first official art exhibition. At the EN:Art exhibition, patrons are invited to bring their own headphones in order to plug into listening stations whilst simultaneously viewing artwork corresponding to each previously unheard album track.
EN2 is officially released on 5th November 2014. Pre-ordered copies (only available through www.ericanockalls.com) will be mailed out on 27th November 2014. Signed advance copies of EN2 may be purchased at the exhibition, as well as signed and numbered limited edition artwork prints.
Erica Nockalls will appear live as main support to Toyah at HMV Institute, Birmingham, 18th October 2014.
